When I was at rock bottom with mental health and drug addiction, I wasn't able to properly connect with other people. In fact I tried to keep everyone at arm's length. It felt easier to keep my pain hidden than to risk being vulnerable and letting others see how much I was struggling.

My recovery journey wouldn't have be possible without the support of so many wonderful people. I've had to learn how to share my challenges with those I can trust. These days it's really quite simple - the more connected I am to my friends and family, the better placed I am to deal with life.
